NOT .38 SPECIAL. The Smith & Wesson .38 (also NOT the .38 Long) was introduced in 1877 and was quickly adopted as the cartridge a plethora of personal defense revolvers, many of them top break designs, that were common in the market for the next half a century. Short but of a substantial diameter, it had an easy recoil in those small revolvers that were meant to be fired at close range. Perhaps the most famous single firearm of that caliber is the Webley MK IV series of revolvers issued in the 1920s – 60’s for British and Commonwealth troops. While the famous cartridge for that purpose weighed 200 grains, this cartridge is great for keeping an old Webley making noise as the monarchy intended. The 145 grain lead round nosed bullet by Partizan has a muzzle velocity of 689 feet per second with 152 foot pounds of energy. As stated, this is perfect for keeping the old top breaks concealed pistols of yesteryear on a British vet popping off at the range.

PRVI Partizan began as the primary munitions maker of the newly created country of Yugoslavia in 1922. Through World War II, the Tito regime, the Balkan Crisis through to today, it has continued to provide reliable, and often uncommon, ammunition to both its own military as well as for commercial export. PRVI brass is capable of being reloaded as well, for further value of these rarer calibers.
