Details

Winchester’s first step into the smokeless powder cartridge world was with the .30-30 in 1895 which breathed new life into their lever action rifles (as well as several of their competitors, not least of which being Marlin), keeping them competitive with modern sporting rounds that were being turned out at the change of the century. The .30 Winchester Center Fire (WCF) retains some hallmarks of yesteryear: it is one of the few surviving bottle necked rimmed sporting cartridges still in production. Yet it remains a quintessential deer hunting cartridge that serves as personal defense in the wilderness on at the cabin for unwanted guests.

The 150 grain solid copper hollow point bullet by Corbon has a muzzle velocity of 2300 feet per second ad 1762 foot pounds of energy. This is a high performing .30-30 round that is trusted in taking down aggressive charging game, like wild boar, on the first shot.

Corbon’s stated mission since its founding in the 1980s was to provide shooters with a bullet that was guaranteed to expand no matter what it might encounter before getting into the target. The DPX, deep penetrating expanding copper bullet is designed for maximum velocity and penetration without shedding any of its mass along the way.
