Federal Vital-Shok Nosler Partition Soft-Point (SP) 130 Grain 270 Winchester Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
Introduced in 1925, .270 Winchester ammo did not get embraced by a particularly wide sport hunting community until the 1950’s. This may be in part due to a large number of military surplus bolt action rifles that became available after World war II chambered in foreign calibers that were well suited to a rechambering in this round. Developed from the .30-03 Springfield, the narrower .270 bullet provides additional long range stability and penetration making it a favored varmint round that can engage over great distances, a precision target cartridge as well as being well suited for larger game up to deer or elk, depending on the bullet type used.
Federal’s Premium Nosler partition bullet has a muzzle velocity of 3060 feet per second with 2703 foot pounds of energy. It is capable of delivering sufficient terminal ballistics to stop a charging boar or take down larger game including elk.
The Nosler partition bullet is essentially two lead cores encased and separated by a copper jacket. Opened at the tip to allow the first core to expand and create a wider would channel, the second core remains intact and provides the literal driving mass for deep penetration. Federal Ammunition has developed and provided sport shooters all over the world with quality performing ammunition for almost a century and remains one of the most trusted and dependable brand names there is.
