This cartridge is loaded with a 180 grain Power Point, thus making it capable of knocking down all North American deer species (and black bears, too). The Power Point’s ballistically efficient profile, 2,620 fps muzzle velocity and 0.382 G1 BC all mean that its trajectory to 300 yards stays below 7” (with 1.5” high sights). At that range it still strikes with over 1,500 ft lbs of energy, and it uses all that energy effectively as its specially notched jacket and soft lead tip work in tandem to supply cripplingly fast mushrooming.
