Details

Shooting your AR-15 on a budget becomes a whole lot simpler once you embrace the awesome power of steel. Tula takes full advantage of Russia’s generous iron reserves to make steel cases and bimetal jackets – both of which you’ll find in this 223 Rem ammo.

This round’s 55 grain bullet is a hollow point, although you shouldn’t expect it to deliver very much by way of terminal expansion. It performs more analogously to an FMJ, and as such provides smooth feeding and deep penetration through soft tissue. This round’s bullet has a magnetic, bimetal jacket. On the inside it is made of economical steel, and on the outside it may have a copper wash finish or silver-colored cupronickel plating.

This round’s case is made out of pure steel as well. That makes it pretty much useless as far as reloading goes, but you can expect Tula’s case to extract more smoothly courtesy of the friction-reducing polymer that coats it. Tula usually uses Berdan primers, although this particular ammo may have Boxer primers. In practice they perform no differently from one another, and in any event this ammo’s primers are 100 percent non-corrosive.
