Details

A conventional rifle cartridge doesn’t contain steel. But this 7.62x39 cartridge, by Sterling of Turkey? It is special. It contains plenty of steel between its case and its bullet, and that’s why it’s a marvelous selection for target practice when you’re trying to keep your ammo budget closer to orbit.

Brass is about two-thirds copper – and copper, as you’re already aware, is expensive. Steel, on the other hand, is 97% iron – not a metal you will find distributed free of charge at soup kitchens, but still significantly cheaper to mine and process. This ammo’s steel cases aren’t reloadable, but they are ideal for the thrift-minded AK-47 lover.

This cartridge’s 123 grain full metal jacket bullet has what is known as a bimetal jacket. With the exception of its extremely thin copper-washed outer layer, a bimetal jacket is made of steel. That makes the bullet cheaper to manufacture, but still safe for passage through a rifle’s bore. This ammo will attract a magnet.

This is noncorrosive ammunition. No rust awaits if you only clean your firearm like you normally would!
