Sellier & Bellot - Soft Point - 285 Grain 9.3x62 Ammo - 20 Rounds
Details
The 9.3x62 Mauser was developed in 1905 by German arms maker Otto Bock for use in the Mauser 1898 action series of rifles. The reason was twofold: one to create a caliber capable of taking down most dangerous mid sized game in Germany’s African colonies and two, to use a different caliber than the standard military round – 8mm Mauser for German affiliates - for fear of colonial insurrection. The 285 soft point bullet by Sellier & Bellot has a muzzle velocity of 2280 feet per second that never the less hits with 3291 foot pounds of energy. This 9.3x62 round is good for hunting everything from large deer and elk to even giraffe. Very popular in Europe as well as most recently independent colonies, the round has seen increasing use in Canada and Australia and more rifles are becoming available on US markets in this very capable caliber.
The Czech munitions producer Sellier& Bellot has a rich tradition in manufacturing uncommon calibers such as the 9.3x62. With a history that is as long and culturally richer than Remington, S&B is prized by shooters of such uncommon calibers for the reloadable cases, providing further capabilities to use such calibers.
