Prvi Partizan - Full Metal Jacket - 85 Grain 7.62mm Tokarev Ammo - 500 Rounds
In 1930 the Russians wanted a new sidearm and sub machine gun cartridge but were insistent on keeping with the 7.62 bore that all their other weapons were in. The result was a physical copy of the older 7.63x25 Mauser round loaded to a much higher pressure: the 7.62x25 Tokarev. While both rounds can be chambered and fired in each other’s chambers, care should be taken NOT to fire this cartridge in the older Mauser pistols. The bottle necked cartridge is capable of impressive ballistics for its small size, rivalling many modern commercial “performance” rounds.
PRVI’s 85 grain, full metal jacketed bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1722 ft per sec with 560 ft per second. It should be noted that this is “hotter than .40 and even some .357 rounds: delivered from a Warsaw Pact, mil surplus firear, that is nothing to scoff at too much.
Partizan ammunition continues to provide mil surplus caliber ammunition in a commercial line that is non corrosive and very often reloadable, as is the case with this lot. Made to the demanding standard of the Serbian military, it is easy to see why collectors and shooters continue to seek out supplies of PRVI at every opportunity.
