Details

Famous for being the caliber Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of using to assassinate JFK, the 6.5x52mm Carcano round certainly seemed adequate. The cartridge itself is somewhat misunderstood along with the Manlicher Carcano rifles designed to fire it – which are sometimes dismissed as “tomato stakes.” In reality the cartridge is really quite pleasant to shoot having a very manageable recoil and in well made rifles – those that remain in good condition and did not suffer from late war, “last ditch” production issues – is very accurate out to 2-300 yards. The 139 grain full metal jacket bullet by PRVI Partizan leaves the muzzle at 2526 ft per sec with 1969 ft lbs of energy. These 500 rounds offer the C&R collector the opportunity to fully explore the capabilities of this once proud workhorse of the Italian nation.

Started in 1928 to help arm the new Yugoslavian nation, PRVI continues to supply the Serbian military today as well as provide a wide range of products to the international commercial munitions market. Antique and historical firearms collectors fully appreciate this company for providing affordable cartridges in otherwise obscure calibers, and especially the ability to have the cases reloaded for further time at the range.
