Details
Cheapo steel-cased and magnetic Russian-made 7.62x39 ammunition certainly has its time and its place. But when you want to reload your 7.62x39 ammo – and when you want to fire it at a range which won’t let you smuggle bimetal jacketed projectiles inside – then you’re really better off going with PMC.
This ammo is produced by the South Korean military’s primary ammo supplier. It’s first rate, as PMC uses raw materials and exacting attention to detail to create and load high-quality components.
PMC recorded this round’s muzzle velocity with a 20” test barrel. We aren’t aware of any AK-47 that has a 20” barrel, which means you’d need an SKS to get a 2,350 fps muzzle velocity and resultant 0.266 G1 ballistic coefficient. Under those circumstances you’d see a trajectory that remains supersonic beyond 500 yards. Pretty handy!
This round’s 123 grain full metal jacket projectile does not contain steel and won’t attract a magnet. It’s nestled in a virgin brass case, complete with a noncorrosive Boxer primer for rust-free and reloadable performance. And never forget: the 7.62x39 may have been developed by Soviets, but any cartridge becomes American once it is fired by you.
