Hornady - Jacketed Hollow Point - 95 Grain 9mm Makarov Ammo - 25 Rounds
Details
During World War II, the 7.62 Tokarev was the primary sidearm and sub machinegun cartridge of the Soviet Union, yet there was an interest in making a more reliable and easy to manufacture firearm. Direct blowback designs were essentially limited to .380 ACP, but the Soviets developed a cartridge that was slightly larger in diameter and length to get maximum effort out of a simple and reliable design. The 9mm Makarov is ballistically inferior to the 7.62, but is able to be fired out of a more convenient and less expensive firearm. Commercial availability of both Makarov pistols of a wide variety of origin as well as the CZ82 make this a viable defensive pistol caliber in the west. Hornady’s 95 grain hollow point bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1000 feet per second with 211 foot pounds of energy. The combination of this energy with an expanding bullet making it perfect for personal defense out of a reliable and compact pistol.
Hornady has been a manufacturer of premium defense and sporting ammunition since the 1960’s. Well regarded for having premium components, including reloadable cases, Hornady is a brand law enforcement officers carry both on and off duty. If it is good enough for them to depend on, what else is left to say?
