Details
The Ruger-5.7. The FN Five-seveN. The FN PS90. What do all these fine pieces of hardware share in common? That’s right: they all run on 5.7x28mm. Where does one find large quantities of 5.7x28mm ammunition, you ask? Right here!
This is FN Herstal’s very own SS197SR spec ammunition. That means it’s loaded with the 40 grain V-MAX by Hornady – an extremely popular polymer tipped bullet for varmint hunting owing to its superior accuracy and explosive fragmentation on impact.
When fired out of a Five-seveN’s 4.80” barrel, the V-MAX gains a muzzle velocity of 1,738 fps. A PS90’s 16.04” barrel will accelerate the V-MAX to 2,034 fps, at which rate its muzzle energy becomes 368 ft lbs.
Whether you use this ammo for target shooting or taking small game, you’ll truly be able to rely on FN Herstal’s premium Boxer primers and new reloadable brass cases. The V-MAX is perfectly nonmagnetic, so do fire away at any range you care to!
