This cartridge’s 230 grain bullet and 830 fps muzzle velocity (5” test barrel) both hit the sweet spot as far as standard .45 cal target ammo is concerned. The total metal jacket does everything that the full metal jacket does – but because the TMJ’s core is completely sealed in by its jacket, it does not produce aerosolized lead during ignition. Great if you’re firing at an indoor range or just want to keep your pistol’s barrel cleaner!
This ammo’s unnamed manufacturer only loads nonmagnetic bullets, noncorrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Just take care that TMJ bullets aren’t compatible with ported barrels or compensators.
