5.56x45 - 62 Grain FMJ XM855 - Federal - 600 Rounds Loose
Details
Descended from Remington’s .223 round, the 5.56x45 is loaded to slightly higher pressures and though it is marginally longer in the neck, it can be chambered and fired in .223 chambers. It should not, however because the additional pressure can damage the firearm. The 5.56 is the military standard of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and should only be fired in firearms that are stamped so. That said, it continues to be very popular both in and out of the military for its impressive performance at close and medium ranges as well as its controllability and economy. Federal’s 62 grain XM855 bullet has a muzzle velocity of 3020 ft per second and up to 1255 ft lbs of energy. This is ideal for use in military rifle competitions, precision rifles with 1:8 twists or simply keeping on hand for civil defense. This 600 round lot is a good start for stocking up.
Federal has built a reputation for premium quality and performance that spans almost a century. Not only does the company provide completed cartridges but also components to the reloading community, so once fired brass is also quite desirable to those who handload their cartridges for leisure and competitions.
