Details

The .45 Automatic Colt Pistol cartridge is an American icon. While many shooters go for small and fast, the “forty-five” is still adored for its close range accuracy and ability to transfer all of its energy into the target without passing through. Not only for target shooting, but this is especially important in defense shooting where there may not be a safe backstop. Though that does not mean the cartridge cannot be supped up a bit.

< Corbon’s 200 grain jacketed hollow point bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1050 feet per second with 490 foot pounds of energy. This is comparable to many of the .40 S&W ballistics and is purpose built for maximum defensive potential of the .45. These cartridges are loaded to increased pressure (+P) and consultation with the firearm’s manufacturer are recommended before use.

Corbon Ammunition was created in the 1980’s in the pursuit of designing a defense bullet that would be guaranteed to expand in the target rather than be “clogged” by intervening material, causing to perform no better than a full metal jacketed round. Corbon bullets deliver on that promise providing consistent expansion and penetration for maximum terminal ballistic results. As can be expected, their brass cases are boxer primed and fully reloadable.
