Fiocchi Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) 165 Grain 40 Smith & Wesson Ammo - 250 Rounds
Details
Developed as a compromise round between the 9mm Luger and 10mm Auto, the .40 Smith & Wesson was introduced in 1990 as a 10mm “short” delivering the same heavier bullet at speeds that were a little less than the 10mm but traded that energy for more manageable recoil. Today it is considered an in the “middle” round with a bullet that weighs almost half again as heavy as the 9mm trying earnestly to go as fast, which in fact generates a little more recoil than either 9mm or .45 acp. There is no compromise on its terminal ballistics. The caliber remains one of the top three popular sidearm choices in the US. The truncated cone, full metal jacket, 165 grain bullet by Fiocchi has a muzzle velocity of 1020 feet per second with 392 foot pounds of energy. These 250 rounds are a good choice for use in competitions - as the truncated cone delivers good accuracy and clean reads on paper targets - or simply for training in target practice or firearms familiarity.
American sportsmen have become increasingly familiar with Fiocchi brand ammunition, especially since the cartridges are now manufactured in the US in cooperation with Smith & Wesson. Founded in Italy at the start of the metallic cartridge revolution in the 1870s, Fiocchi pioneered every development of the primer ignition system and reloadable brass cases.
