Details

The .380 Automatic Colt Pistol Cartridge was designed to be the largest caliber bullet that could be fired out of a simple, direct blowback designed firearm. As it quickly became a common caliber across numerous nations for military, police and civilian use. Known as .380, 9mm Short (or Corto or Kurz), its numerous designations reflect its global acceptance. While considered somewhat anemic by modern standards, new bullet designs keep it relevant and a popular choice for being the primary caliber of small, concealable, back up type pistols to this day. Corbon’s 80 grain solid copper, DPX bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1050 feet per second with 196 foot pounds of energy. This is a purpose specific designed cartridge for personal defense.

Corbon was conceived in an effort to provide a hollow point bullet that would not be turned into a FMJ ball round because its point was clogged by clothing. In the 1980’s it was not uncommon for defense ammunition to fail to expand because soft material. Corbon’s Deep Penetrating eXpanding (DPX) bullet has no jacketing to shed, it is a solid copper hp round that will not lose mass on entry and promises consistent expansion each and every time.
