Fiocchi Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) 110 Grain 38 Special +P Ammo - 25 Rounds
Details
Smith & Wesson offered the .38 Special in 1898 as an improvement upon the .38 Long Colt which was then in military service. The special offered reliable accuracy and better terminal ballistics and while it did not become a new standard military sidearm caliber (except with what ultimately became the US Air Force), it ultimately became a primary US law enforcement round from the 1920’s on. While not the “manstopper” of larger calibers its accuracy and reliability have made it a favorite among civil and private shooters for defense and recreation. Yet loaded with the proper bullet type, the round’s utility would not last so long if it were not effective.
Fiocchi’s 110 grain jacketed hollow point bullet has a muzzle velocity of 1100 feet per second with 296 foot pounds of energy. This is close to 9mm velocities out a revolver but represents Fiocchi’s extreme terminal performance round that is meant for self-defense on the job or in the home.
The Italian ammunition maker Fiocchi has been making ammo since the mid 19th century and on the wave’s crest of technological developments as ammunition went to metallic cartridges and smokeless powder. With a strong reputation of quality boxer primers and reloadable brass cases, the Fiocchi brand is a welcomed addition to any ammunition locker or personal defense weapon.
