PMC X-Tac Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail (FMJ-BT) 147 Grain 308 Winchester (7.62X51) Ammo - 20 Rounds
Recognizing the difference between .308 Winchester and 7.62 NATO is often more a difference of bullet type than actual cartridge performance. While NATO rounds are almost exclusively full metal jacketed, the .308 will have more purpose specific bullets that international law may frown upon for use in military weapons. The 147 grain full metal jacketed bullet by PMC’s XTact line is a boat tailed round designed for accuracy in competitions. It has a muzzle velocity of 2800 feet per second with 2611 foot pounds of energy. Acceptable for use in civil defense and firearms or range training exercises, the bullet really comes into its own for CMP/DCM style competitions out to medium and long ranges and can be reliably used in either bolt action or self-loading rifles.
PMC’s Xtact line is designed with military and police use in mind, meaning for use in tactical precision shooting. While not the most devastating of bullets, it is designed for consistent and long range accuracy and why its use in competitions is so often declared. Loaded in boxer primed cases, PMC’s strict quality control processes not only in manufacture but in component selection, offers reloaders and custom handloaders additional options after initial use.
