Details

The .30-06 Springfield cartridge was the backbone of the US armed forces for half a century. When it was introduces it was the beneficiary of numerous technological developments from smokeless powder mixes and the new pointed, or “spitzer” bullet that provided wonderfully consistent accuracy and knock down power. While it ha been replaced by more modern cartridges in the military, it has sponsored numerous spin off calibers and remains itself a popular and trusted cartridge in the hunting and sport shooting worlds. Winchester’s 180 grain Expedition bullet leaves the muzzle at a velocity of approximately 2750 ft per sec with 3022 foot pounds of energy. This is an ideal round for everything from boar to deer and even elk.

For years in partnership with the Olin Corporation, Winchester Repeating Arms Ammunition continues to provide the very best in sporting cartridges. The Expedition branding offers the company’s nickel plated boxer primed cases loaded with a polymer tipped bullet for accuracy and controlled expansion in the game, guaranteeing one shot drops: when in the wilderness, you are not the only one hunting, and having some other predator tracking your wounded game finish what you started is not the story you want to be telling back at the lodge.
