Tula Cartridge Works Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) 55 Grain 223 Remington Ammo - 1000 Rounds
Tula’s 55 grain, full metal jacket .223 ammo is loaded with a bullet that exits the muzzle at 3240 feet per second with 1280 ft lbs of energy. The cartridge is perfectly suited for range and firearms training with a particular predilection, especially in this 1000 round case, towards long term storage for emergency use.
This bulk .223 ammo pack comes 25 boxes of ammo and 40 rounds in each – so you’ll get 1,000 rounds total. Prefer a slightly heavier round? We have this same ammo loaded with a 62 grain bullet for sale here.
Though popularly thought of as interchangeable, .223 and 5.56 NATO ammunition does have different chamber pressures. 5.56x45’s pressure is slightly higher and therefore not recommended for use in firearms chambered in .223. This makes the .223 more versatile, however, being able to be fired in either. Steel cased ammunition also expands with greater force when fired, making them better suited for the military firearms which are designed for battle field abuses.
Tula Arsenal Works has provided ammunition for the tsars, the Soviets and now the Russian Federation as well as for commercial export. Not selected for use in custom rifles or precision competitions, these cartridges still provide consistently reliable performance for the purpose of punching holes in paper or civil defense. The non-corrosive, Berdan primed cases are not intended for reloading but dependable performance no matter how long it has been sitting on the shelf.
