Details

Tula's 223 ammo features a 55 grain full metal jacket round has a muzzle velocity peaking out at 3,240 feet per second with about 1280 foot pounds of energy. It is ideal for range training and target practice, but many shooters also like to keep a case on reserve in their "just in case" inventory.

With this product, you'll get a full case of Tula AR-15 rifle ammo so you'll be set for hours of plinking at the range.

In 1963, Remington introduced the .223 cartridge for use in a new US military rifle that used a smaller diameter caliber than the recent 7.62x51 NATO. The goal was to offer more rounds per weight of the US soldier while still delivering terminal velocity from the smaller bullet operating at hypervelocity. In 1980, NATO adopted a similar cartridge, the 5.56 NATO. It is important to note that while firearms chambered in 5.56 NATO may fire the .223 Remington cartridge, the 5.56 round should not be fired in .223 chambered guns.

Tula Cartridge Works enjoys a close association with the centuries old Tula Arsenal outside Moscow, Russia. The Cartridge Works not only produces ammunition for the Russian military, but also billions of rounds for commercial export: and business has been booming. While the steel cases are berdan primed and not reloadable, US shooters find the Tula ammunition to be very cost effective for the advertised purposes.
