Details

While .223 Remington ammo is well known as a martial or competitive target shooting round, its use as a hunting cartridge was never abandoned. Commonly associated with the .222 Remington varmint round, the .223 is still a potent small to medium game bullet, especially when employed out of a dedicated, precision rifle such as a bolt action. It is also quite versatile in that it is safe for use in other chambers: specifically the 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde. This 50 grain soft point bullet from Black Hills has a muzzle velocity of 3250 feet per second with 1290 foot pounds of energy. The SP round is ideal for use as a competitive target round or for dispatching varmints and small game.

Black Hills is an established cowboy action ammo maker with a reputation for dependable performance, especially in high pressure, timed matches. That standard of performance is extended to their line of modern rifle ammunition, both in their new line production as well as their remanufactured products. These reloaded rounds are made from once fired brass collected from large, often government run ranges and facilities, inspected, cleaned and repurposed for commercial use in hunting, civil defense or sporting applications. What is more, there is absolutely no question over the cases’ reloading potential.
