Recoil always complicates things. When you’re training it causes fatigue, which can make your aim worse when it should really be getting better. When you’re defending your life it can throw off your aim, which you don’t want happening for very obvious reasons. Whatever your business happens to be with a shotgun, you will like Remington’s Reduced Recoil line of ammo!
This 12 Gauge shell is loaded with a one ounce rifled slug (which is the correct type of slug for a smoothbore shotgun, not a rifled bore). Although it is loaded to a supersonic muzzle velocity, this shell generates only about 55 percent as much felt recoil as a standard one ounce slug load. You’re going to appreciate so great a difference.
Remington’s low recoil slug still offers reliable accuracy and terminal ballistics. Its point of impact is the same as that of a standard one ounce slug at 50 yards, and a mere 1-1/2” lower at 100 yards. One ounce of lead slamming into a target at close range delivers well over 1,000 ft lbs of energy, which is adequate for self-defense by anyone’s standards. This shell even features a waterproof primer for greater reliability when you most need it!
Reduced recoil shotshells are not recommended for semi-automatic shotguns, as they may lack sufficient power to fully cycle them.
