Details

The 6.5x54 Mannlicher Shonauer cartridge became the standard Greek Army cartridge in 1903 and remained so until the German Occupation in 1941. The caliber continued to resurface after the war as an easy rechambering of other nation’s rifles that were captured and re issued as emergency arms during the Greek Civil War and by various partisan groups. In sporting circles, it was a favored Safari cartridge popular for use on elephants and lions: Hemingway referred to it as a .256 Mannlicher and it was a close second to his favored .30-06 Springfield. Its exceptional long axis offers superior stability and wind resistance as well as exceptional penetration into game.

Partizan’s 166 grain soft point bullet has a muzzle velocity of approximately 2460 feet per second and around 2150 foot pounds of energy. This is a quality sporting round in a caliber not often available from any other supplier.

Consistently meeting the quality standards of the Serbian military, PRVI Partizan PPU has an established reputation for quality production and reliable performance. Loaded in brass cases with boxer primers, they are fully reloadable for shooters of this less common caliber. Reliable bullet designs provide anticipated results on game or for simple target shooting at the range.
