Details

The standard medium rifle range of the NATO alliance, the 5.56x45 cartridge has weathered many challenges to be replaced but continues to be utilized for its close to medium range terminal ballistics. The primary purpose of the 5.56 cartridge is controllability on rapid fire: it is far more manageable than the 7.62 NATO in such scenarios. Developed in 1961 and adopted shortly after it is suited for target shooting and competitions.

This product is manufactured to the same specifications as the US military M193 round, making this ideal for military competition matches as well as for range training and civil defense. Independence’s 55 grain full metal jacket round has a muzzle velocity of 3185 feet per second with approximately 1300 foot pounds of energy.

Independence is part of the Vista Group, along with CCI, Federal and Estate cartridges. The company is specifically contracted with Israeli Military Industries and made to their specifications for reliable performance. Brass cased with boxer primers for those that have reloading presses. Note: though this cartridge can be chambered in .223 firearms, it should not be fired in them as they are loaded to higher pressures than its Remington twin.
