Details

Since its introduction in 1961 as a varmint and target round, the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR) has by and large remained a cartridge used for small game hunters and precision shooters. With the growing popularity of concealed carry, however, it has become an increasingly popular choice for use as a personal defense round. The 40 grain, jacketed hollow point bullet by CCI has a muzzle velocity of 1875 feet per second with 312 foot pounds of energy. At point blank range this energy rivals that of a 9mm Luger. Add to that the virtually nil recoil and potentially greater capacity in a small package, it is small wonder more and more people opt for this caliber. The only drawback is projectile diameter, which the hollow point works to mitigate. Out of a varmint rifle, this rifle serves equally well for pest control.

CCI, or Cascade Cartridge Inc. was founded with Speer bullets in the 1960s and is currently manufactured in Idaho. CCI’s reputation for premium quality rimfire rounds was established early and has been maintained ever since, their .22 Magnum rounds are no different and are quite sought after by marksmen, hunters and the growing number of personal defense WMR users. This 2000 round lot is perfect for honing skills and keeping pests at bay.
