Details

.22 Long Rifle ammunition maintains its pre-eminence as the most utilitarian caliber in the US if not the world. It is what every shooter doubtless learned on and what many continue to use for sport, leisure and pest control. This is despite the fact that rimfires have the highest misfire ratio of any modern caliber due to the difficulty of seating the primer compound completely around the rim’s circumference. Consequently, brands that have a reputation for complete seating are quickly recognized and the first chosen for professional competitions where time is an important factor. Aguila is one such company. Their 40 grain copper plated lead round nosed bullet exits the muzzle at 1255 feet per second with 140 foot pounds of energy. This is a comparatively hard hitting .22 good for distance competitions and varmint hunting where hollow points are prohibited. The copper plating also produces less fouling over long stages of competition.

Distributed in cooperation with Remington, the Aguila line has been produced in Mexico since the 1960’s and has been recognized as among the most dependable performing rimfire rounds available on the market. Distribution to competitions is global as the company’s practice to maintain strict quality control standards for components as well as the finished product is universally known.
