Fiocchi - Soft Point - 40 Grain 22 Magnum Ammo - 50 Rounds
Details
Thanks to its low recoil but high velocity, the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR) has moved from exclusively a small game or target caliber to a perfectly reasonable personal defense round. Chambered in a hand gun, the bullet has as much energy as a 9mm because the velocity is half again as fast. Firearms chambered in this caliber were introduced in 1961 for the purpose of putting a rimfire round out further than a .22 long rifle. However, with the modern explosion of interest in concealed carry, this dynamic round is being given a review for personal defense. The 40 grain soft point bullet by Fiocchi has a muzzle velocity of 1910 feet per second with over 320 foot pounds of energy. The penetration is there, it is the bullet diameter that is its one failing point. Low recoil and capacity are good compensation points however. This soft point bullet is also good for jurisdictions that restrict the use of hollow points.
The Italian company Fiocchi began munitions production in the 1870’s, on the ground floor of self-contained cartridges and the exploration of smokeless powder propellants. Today it is a recognized manufacturer of quality ammunition, both rim and centerfire.
