PNW Arms Hollow-Point Boat Tail (HP-BT) 125 Grain 300 AAC Blackout Ammo - 20 Rounds
Advanced Armament Corporation helped introduce a new caliber: a .30 caliber round capable of being fired in STANAG, NATO standard AR15/M16/M4 magazines. With a simple upper receiver swap out, the standard military rifle could be updated to fire a round that ha ballistic energies closer to the 7.63x39 with the dependability of the parent weapon system. Different, subsonic versions of the .300 AAC Blackout are also used in firearms that have suppressors. These variants obviously have a reduced effective range than the 5.56 NATO round. While no *known* militaries have adopted the cartridge, it has found itself unofficially in the armories of more than a couple special force organizations. Civilian marksmen have also adopted it for a variety of reasons, including personal and civil defense. The 125 grain hollow point, boat tailed bullet by PNW has a muzzle velocity of 2000 feet per second with 1363 foot pounds of energy. This is a premium range training and match shooting cartridge.
PNW Arms was founded in 1993 to provide premium ammunition in calibers that are typical of law enforcement and military use. This includes the popular alternatives such as .338 Lapua and, of course, .300 AAC Blackout. Their line of HPBT bullets is designed for use at the range or in competitions and is also a source of premium reloadable brass for those with the presses and knowledge to use them.
