Federal Black Cloud Close Range 3" #2 Steel Shot 1-1/4 oz. 12 Gauge Ammo - 25 Rounds
Details
Federal Black Cloud 12 gauge ammo is some of our most sought after ammunition for taking down ducks. Lowland or wetland bird hunting now requires steel shot instead of lead in many if not all districts. Federal Black Cloud is among the first to accommodate the legislated use of said shot without it destroying the barrel: superior wadding holds the shot together and away from scouring the bore before exiting the barrel and spreading out as the choke dictates. Steel shot does weigh less and consequently has more shot per ounce, it also tends to not spread as readily as lead, remaining more concentrated at close range.
Federal’s 3” shell fires 1-1/4 ounces of #2 shot (approximately 150 steel pellets of .15” diameter) at up to 1450 feet per second. This is ideal for larger water fowl such as geese, but care should be taken to confirm that the shotgun used can cycle and/or chamber 3” shells.
Federal ammunition has been manufacturing quality sporting cartridges and shot shells since the 192s and is a trusted and reliable source by hunters and sportsmen to this day. They helped pioneer the use of steel shot in advance of the new legislation requiring protecting wetlands from further lead contamination, and as always are loaded in reloadable shells for further value to reloaders.
