Details

For five years, between 1969 and 1974, Remington Arms offered the 5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum. It was meant to be a direct competitor against Winchester .22 Magnum and in fact delivered slightly better terminal ballistic performances than the more popular WMR. However, Remington’s development and distribution of the round, along with its slightly higher expense (it is a bottle necked round which requires another step in the manufacturing process) appeared to be a misfire and the firearms were discontinued after the five years with ammunition production ceasing in 1982. Centurion, however, recognizes a good thing when they see it, and many rimfire wildcatters are more than happy to adapt a barrel or two to this potent little round. The 30 grain, hollow point round by Centurion has a muzzle velocity of 2410 feet per second with over 400 foot pounds of energy. This is perfect for competitive target shooting or small game hunting.

A division of Aguila Centurion is globally recognized for their superior performing rimfire cartridges. Depended upon by competitive shooters the world over for guaranteed ignition and consistently superb performance, there is little reason to try or trust any other cartridge when each shot is the difference between success or failure.
