Centurion - Hollow Point - 30 Grain 5mm Remington Magnum Ammo - 50 Rounds
Development of high performance rimfire rounds is not a new pursuit, and not all rounds are as quickly or widely embraced as the more recent .17 HMR. Remington’s efforts in 1969 introduced the 5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum. A bottle necked cartridge that exceeds the performance of the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. However, as only two models by Remington fired the caliber, along with several barrels by Thompson Contender, the cartridge never claimed as much popularity as it perhaps deserves.
This 30 grain jacketed hollow point by Centurion leaves the muzzle at 2410 feet per second – and possibly faster – with 410 foot pounds of energy. This is a flat shooting, extremely accurate round for varmints and small game. Centurion Ordnance, in collaboration with Aguila, is the only current source of this caliber, as Remington discontinued their production in 1982. Aguila announced its reintroduction in 2008, and for 10 years is the sole provider of this specialized round.
Aguila munitions of Mexico maintains strict controls over both component selection and production of their ammo. Considered one of the premium manufacturers of rimfire cartridges, it is often chosen as the preferred ammunition for high profile, competitions, via a broad, global, commercial distribution of their products.
