Details

The .308 Winchester was designed to deliver full sized .30 caliber rifle performance out of a shorter action. Initially for use in self-loading rifles, after the caliber’s introduction in 1952 it became a very popular sporting round for both hunting on every continent and for military competitive shooting. While physically identical to the 7.62 NATO round, the .308 is actually loaded a bit hotter, yet SAAMI specs state that either caliber is safe for shooting out of the other chamber, which only adds to the round’s versatility. The 150 grain boat tailed, full metal jacketed round by Aguila has a muzzle velocity of 2751 feet per second with 2428 foot pounds of energy. This is a premium competition round that is of course perfectly suitable for casual target practice or range training with a hunting or military style firearm.

Mexico’s Aguila has an established reputation for quality rimfire rounds used in formal competitions all over the world. That standard of quality is clearly transferred to the centerfire line of products with their strict quality control in components and finished products. Aguila reloadable brass remains a popular choice of reloaders who fashion their own custom loads in this caliber as well.
